Day 22
The idea of TEAM runthoughs have been stressing me out, so we are still avoiding them by training other things.
I did some heeling work with Sei on the road in front of our house!!!!!!! During daylight hours! With no acclimation. I am so proud of my little Sei Sei. He is often quite concerned here, despite the number of hours we have put in there. Lately his comfort level has been coming along in leaps and bounds. As for the skills, messy, but I am amazed at them for having introduced pivoting ~22 days ago.
We also did some stays in the backyard again. I wanted that stay on video darn it! Turns out that they would be made more difficult than I intended when the neighbour’s dog was let out. It isn’t often let out in the area that adjoins our fence, so my guys go a bit bananas. I was able to get them both back though (I left it in the video), and do a really solid stay after they had a chance to get used to the idea of the other dog there. (Also, I’m not sure why I lost sound on the last bit of the video. That camera has been acting a little strange).
